PrintShow & Share - We need a Savior
Today I learned we need a Savior because of sin.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
As a continuation of our Youth Ministry teaching series, Knowing your Lord, we reviewed the account of Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the garden and how they lost spirit and became separated from God. As such, everyone is born with sin. We discussed what sin is and why it and God cannot mix. God is holy, pure, and light, and sin can only lead to darkness and death.
God created us to be close to Him, and that’s the best place to be! But sin makes that impossible.
We learned that God gave His people the Law to show them that they couldn’t deal with sin on their own. No one could keep it…except Jesus Christ!
And it is through Jesus that we can be close to God, to walk with Him and have eternal life with Him. We get back what Adam had lost—spirit! And spirit not only helps us obey God but want to obey Him!
