Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV) “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Today we learned about how we are the light of the world. Those that haven’t believed in Jesus are in darkness because of sin but we are to be light-givers to those around us. Everyone can see a city that is on a hill. We shouldn’t blend in with the world or “put our lights under a basket” but live our lives in a way that shines the life of Christ within us. By living in a way that serves our Lord, it will naturally look different, and when people see that, they’ll give glory to God! And that's the way it should be!
