This morning we began by reading 1 John 5:11 and 12 “... God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has life…” We talked about when we believe in Jesus Christ and receive spirit, that makes us God's child and we get the promise of eternal life, which is our REAL LIFE! Also, when something is ‘our life’, everything we do revolves around that thing (it could be sports, music, ect.) but for us who have believed in Jesus Christ, HE is our life! We looked at some verses written by Paul as an example of someone who always had their eyes on the real life. In Romans 1:16 Paul says he was not ashamed of the gospel, in Romans 8:38-39 he writes how he is sure nothing can remove us from God's love in Jesus Christ, and in Galatians 2:20 he says he doesn't even live anymore but he lives by the faith of the son of God! We can have the same heart to serve Jesus in everything we do now, looking forward to eternal life with him in the future!
