Today I learned about Jesus the Good Shepherd:
We talked about what a shepherd is. A shepherd is someone who takes care of sheep. A shepherd leads sheep, takes them to green pastures to eat, still waters to drink, and protects them with their rod and staff. The sheep know their shepherds voice. The Bible tells us that Jesus is our Good Shepherd and we are his sheep. Jesus’s sheep know his voice and they follow him(John 10:27). Jesus our good shepherd protects us. Someone who is a hired hand and not the good shepherd might run away when the wolf comes, but not the good shepherd - He gave his life for the sheep(John 10:11-18). A good shepherd when they lose one sheep, leave the others to go find the one that is lost(Luke 15:4-7). Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost (Luke19:10)
